Steven Borgard
Steven Borgard is an executive director and pastor of faith based communities. He says, “I know first hand the deep need to invest in self-care and find spaces and practices that foster integrity, authenticity and compassion. My own personal experiences with the Center for Engaged Compassion and the Compassion Practice have helped me to discover the complexities of my own inner life, to transform difficult emotions and wounds, and develop into a more fruitful, balanced and compassionate leader.” Steve have enjoyed leading retreats, workshops and on going small groups utilizing the Compassion Practice. A few more facts about Steve: Ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) serving congregations in Southern and Northern CA. Graduate of Claremont School of Theology. Led groups in home building and social justice projects both local and abroad. Prepared facilitator with the Center for Courage and Renewal (Parker Palmer - Circles of Trust) As an adjunct professor, taught courses in: public speaking, interpersonal communication and intercultural communication. Has led spiritual retreats and programs with: La Casa De Maria Retreat Center Atlas Family Foundation - "Gateway to Self Care" Lafayette Christian Church Disciples of Christ All Saints By the Sea - Episcopal Church - Santa Barbara First Christian Church of Burbank - Disciples of Christ Community of the Great Commission - Adult Retreat Series and High School Camp Steve enjoys preaching, leading retreats and contemplative practices.
