Marty Boller

After 30 years in pastoral ministry, planting two Vineyard Churches in Iowa, Marty Boller and his wife, Sandy, have served as highly respected trainers in spiritual direction/spiritual formation with the internationally recognized Sustainable Faith School of Spiritual Direction. Between 2015 and 2020, the Bollers hosted multiple cohorts in Minneapolis, MN; Milwaukee, WI, Peoria, IL, Kansas City, MO, Wichita, KS, Ames, IA, and Boise, ID. And when COVID hit in 2020, they successfully moved all of their training on-line, working primarily with students from the U.S., Canada, and England, yet also successfully training individuals in Egypt, Turkey, Hungary, Guatemala, and Zimbabwe. Today, the Bollers, working alongside Dr. Frank Rogers, Jr. and the Center for Engaged Compassion, oversee The Contemplative Activist School of Spiritual Direction (TCA-SSD), offering a variety of training options in Christ Centered, Compassion-Based Spiritual Direction with an IFS Twist. Beginning in October 2026, Marty & Sandy Boller and TCA-SSD are offering a new two-year, comprehensive training program for those looking to become Christ-centered, Compassion-based spiritual directors using IFS as one of their key ministry tools. We also offer a one-year training cohort that introduces the work of IFS for those already trained in Christ-centered spiritual direction.
